How to Access “GORDON” in the Temporarily Occupied Territories

Russia has blocked the "GORDON" website in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, along with many other independent media outlets and platforms. Additionally, you will most likely not be able to access our website even within Russia itself. But there are ways to get unbiased news—we’ll explain how below.

First and foremost, we recommend: subscribing to our YouTube channel;

follow us on social media: Facebook, X (Twitter), Telegram;

subscribe to our newsletter.

Use a VPN

Download a VPN on your computer and phone. This will likely allow you to visit the "GORDON" website. Under certain conditions, a reliable VPN service helps make your internet connection safer and more anonymous. Simply put, when you use a VPN, it’s as if you’re accessing the internet through a secret tunnel. Your real IP address is hidden, and websites see the VPN service’s IP address instead.

At the same time, VPNs have a drawback: Russian authorities block some VPN services. Therefore, it’s worth choosing a service that will remain accessible.

It’s also best to avoid free VPN services, as they may profit by selling your data. Most paid VPN services offer a free trial period, after which you can subscribe.

Additionally, there is a solution that allows you to use a reliable VPN for free: the Ukrainian ClearVPN or the American VPN Unlimited—commercial VPN services that offer free access to Ukrainians. To do this, you need to create an account on the developer’s website and verify your citizenship using "Diya.Signature."

Another option is the Ceno browser for Android. If you use devices running the Android operating system, download and install the Ceno browser from Google Play Store or F-droid.

Ceno (Censorship.No!) is a mobile browser developed by the Canadian company eQualitie, which creates decentralized internet services to support a more equitable network. The browser is built on Mozilla Fennec, which uses a peer-to-peer (P2P or torrent) network architecture to exchange data and content between users.

A key feature of the Ceno browser is the caching of websites banned in countries with authoritarian regimes, and the delivery of this cache into such countries using alternative technologies. A mirror of the website is also included in this cache and is accessible via the Ceno browser both in the occupied territories of Ukraine and in Russia.

Therefore, access via the Ceno browser to Ukrainian resources banned in the Russian Federation will be possible without a VPN, registration, or the use of your personal data—even if Russia is disconnected from external internet channels.

Ukrainian citizens who have installed the Ceno browser should use it as often as possible to show solidarity with Ukrainians who have been forced to remain in the occupied territories.

We recommend that Ukrainians who remain in the occupied territories spread the word about the Ceno browser among people you trust. Also, use it more often to show solidarity with other users, increase the number of cached pages, and enable faster exchange of cached data between you.
