Since my school years, I have had a strong aptitude for languages and dreamed of becoming a military journalist. I prepared to apply to the Military Institute at Lviv Polytechnic but had to urgently change my plans due to the specifics of the admission campaign the year I graduated from school. Acting on impulse, I moved to the other end of the country.
In 2007, I graduated from V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University with a degree in journalism. From my second year, I contributed to various media outlets, including a newspaper for national minorities (which became one of my most interesting professional experiences, as I learned a great deal there).
I worked for various print and online media in Kharkiv and Kyiv. I have been with the online publication GORDON since its founding. From 2013 to 2015, I worked as a production editor, and since 2015 I have been Deputy Editor-in-Chief.
I love news writing, especially when it is concise, written in clear language, and provides thoughtful context (my colleagues would confirm this).
For about the past 15 years, I have mostly written about politics, although I would much rather write about fashion, travel, cats, dogs, and raccoons.
In my pre-war life, I enjoyed drawing, collecting Kinder Surprise toys, and watching all films by Pedro Almodóvar as well as all films starring Nicole Kidman. For now, I have postponed cinema until after Ukraine’s victory.
